Hello, I wondered if anyone can offer some advice.
Every day or so my sky q box loses connection with my new EE broadband router. It’s getting really frustrating now and wondered if anyone else experiences this and if there is a solution?
Thanks in advance.

@TraceyMcN What EE Router are you using, if you have the EE Smarthub+ then you will need to set up the Compatible network feature and use wpa2-psk as the network securities to get a sky Q working well! Link below explains!

Wish I had seen this advice earlier as when I joined ee my sky q boxes were continually failing and despite calling ee and sky help desks no one could help me. Was very frustrating as ee kept telling me it was nothing to do with their broadband or new router, but it was, as refitting my old BT router solved the problem.
What I did was run an ethernet cable from the router to the main Sky Q box and that immediately solved the problem.
EE needs to be more transparent re this problem as it impacts anyone joining ee who has Sky Q boxes. I have not tried the 2.4Mhz separate network, but it does sound convincing.
We have 17 wifi devices in the house, a couple are also quite old devices (printer scanner must be 10 years old) but they immediately joined the ee wifi and worked. It was only the sky boxes that were a problem.

@LondonTel The updated FW on a EE Smarthub+ will make the sky Q just not like the wireless wifi in the slightest. WPA2-PSK and Third party Operation are all required for sky Q/mini in operation in the wireless environment! Wired is different. sky info below if you need it!

The other potential issue is that Sky Q uses channel 36 on the 5GHz band and if the router is also using that then issues do occur.
