Hi all,
After some advice. I'm with Sky and have given them notice to cancel for 15th May. I've signed up with EE Broadband, but the first available activation date was 16th May. so have signed up with that.
Have I done this correctly? I can't tell whether I should be asking Sky broadband to cancel my Broadband on a date after 16th May, so the line is transferred across in one go, or whether OpenReach are going to visit the cabinet on the 15th May to disconnect the Sky line, and then again on the 16th May to reconnect me for EE.
Any thoughts, much appreciated.

Depends what types of BB you're moving between. If your Sky BB was Fibre over copper landline at a phone socket (FTTC) & you're moving to EE Full Fibre (FTTP) you did right. Otherwise you should not be cancelling Sky at all but let EE take care of everything bar your final Sky bill.
What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

Hi,
It's normal 76MB Sky Broadband to normal 76 MB EE Broadband, no FTTP.
I'd already put in my Sky cancellation prior to taking out EE - is it best to go back to Sky and ask them to extend to 17th May?
I've had very little contact from EE since the original order - one text that tells me the service will start on 16th May at 8:18 in the morning, then another at 8:56 that they're still working with Openreach to provide the service for my order and would be in touch within 3 days. That was Friday, and nothing since.
I tried ringing the EE support line, but after being on hold for 15 minutes, the advisor couldn't understand my issue, told me I'd done the right thing and to just plug the box in when it arrives to the "modem in the wall". From your response above, I'm not sure I have got this correctly - and slightly worried I'll be without broadband on the 16th and for a prolonged period - I work from home so that's not an option.

Then you shouldn't be cancelling Sky at all. Ofcom lays down the rules for Gaining Provider Led (GPL) migrations of this sort. If you follow them you should have no worries about downtime or delays as you'll just be moved from 1 to t'other.
I should get back to Sky & cancel your cancellation.
