Security camera connection

I am  about to purchase an internal security camera , possibly a Tapo C210, to monitor a room in my house. My wifi is managed through a Smart Hub which I believe is dual 2.4 and 5 GHz. My question is will the camera connect automatically to the Smart Hub or do I have to make an adjustment in the Hub?

@StuartC4 you will not know that until you try the connection, all depends on how the devices play with the hub, securities or band control will be the ones to look at if not.

Thanks, I suspected that might be the case since some descriptions of the hub mention 'auto'! Nice to have it confirmed.

Welcome to the Community, @StuartC4

If you choose to purchase this and have trouble with the automatic network, it's also possible to enable Compatible WiFi.

This is a dedicated 2.4 GHz network that's designed to maximise your chance of being able to connect older IoT devices.

Hi @StuartC4

You'll need to connect them in comparability mode but once connected they should be ok. I have a couple of these cameras (not on EE) and they work great.

You'll likely need to update the firmware and once reset i would recommend removing the power cable and reconnecting. Should be good to go.

Thanks
