Router not working with HomePods

Hi,

Since switching to EE I have had problems with my smart home. I am using HomePods and when initially setting them up with the EE router I get the following error

"HomePod features like AirPlay and Personal Requests may not work on "EE-XXXXX" because it does not support peer-to-peer connections."

The homepods aren't stable in the network and I have never had any problems with my previous setup. I assume that the router is just incompatible or not configured properly - did anybody else run into the same issue?
Is a replacement to a different router model possible in this scenario?

Thank you all!

Yeah I’m having the same issues and didn’t have any when I was on Vodafone (mobile & broadband). Additionally, my calls seem to be unreliable - that’s being kind too - on both the EE network and WiFi calls. I’m housebound and need a reliable internet connection and ability to make emergency calls. Honestly biggest regret moving from Bodafone to EE

@scolasticus Have you checked with the Fruit flavoured company with what to do?

Switching to SKY did the trick.

What type of EE hub are you using? Label will say, or a picture...

I don’t know why or how but my account seems to have gone haywire on the community. I posted the previous reply as JPJG86.

I have checked with Apple, and being on the beta test programme I got direct help from the development team. Apparently, in an effort to make their Smart Hub Pro more user friendly they’ve caused issues at the firmware level between mDNS and Bonjour. Without the ability to change settings related to that, WiFi Calling and my HomePod Mini will have difficulty in speaking to Apple devices properly.

as for the network dropping my calls, I just keep getting told there’s nothing wrong with the network in my area - which I would accept, if it weren’t for the fact it is happening with my Mum’s phone too. Neither of us had these issues when on Vodafone.

@scolasticus Sorry did not see you where away back in the 2024 and the post question was directed, my bad, but good choice back there myself since Mar25!
