Hi all
After some shop maintenance, the broadband page now confirms the Smart Hub Pro is now available!
Included by default with the 1.6gbps tiers and a £10 per month extra for any < 900mbps tiers (which I think is a great price for the spec on paper compared to other third party wifi 7 hardware, definitely adds value to the higher tiers).
It’s available to order now, and I hope that the extra can be added for existing customers, will have to see what CS say in the morning 😀
Slight typo on the images, l as I’m assuming powered by wifi 7 means the hub pro is included rather than the plus.
It looks like the £10 “Smart Hub Pro and Smart WiFi Pro” extra is for both the hub and booster, replacing the existing £7 extra for Smart WiFi Plus (as you cannot add both extras to the same basket). This represents fantastic value if you’re effectively paying £3 to upgrade to WiFi 7 from the existing setup (if you’re already paying £7).
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

For a new customer, adding smart wifi pro for £10 removes the existing £7 addon from the basket, so would assume for these customers it’s a £3 upgrade to wifi 7 (but if your in contract with it, who knows if it’s possible?)

Not sure, no existing addons, maybe as it’s a different SKU it will be possible and cancel the existing £7 addon (if you have it). Will need to ask them on phone…

Yeah they said you can, the process they follow is not known yet. I’m currently paying £10 a month for the Smart WiFi add on so I’d be amazed if they charged me another £10 a month for the new stuff cos then I’d be paying for 2 smart WiFi services. Will just have to wait and see I guess.

I rang them and got put through to next gen team as an existing customer for 1.6gbps they are sending them out but the process is not yet in place for it apparently and are waiting on an update

Interesting one but the order confirmation and pre-contract information received by email seems to indicate that now my broadband is on a 30 day notice to leave and the smart wifi extra is a monthly rolling (cancel at any time), although online it shows as a 24 month extra.
I am happier with EE than Sky (and wouldn’t want to move away) but no other time lines are mentioned in the email and it references the time lines above later on, so does this mean 3 weeks into the 24 months this change has technically got me out of contract; and I can drop the smart wifi extra at any point; or am I being dumb?
Also, does anyone rate the wifi enhancer extra for Xbox / PSN/ PC?

New Router with a bespoke operating system???
I am going to wait and see how well it works in practice!
There are plenty of threads complaining about EEs other routers!

I had the WiFi enhancer for a couple of months. Didn’t feel like it did anything personally but I already get super low ping anyway. If you don’t have the packages where it’s included, it’s a 30 day rolling add on so you can always try it and remove it later 🙂

I brought the WIFI enhancer off a well known action site.
I found it did the job of balancing out the WIFI signal across my house and providing decent WIFI to the Garden.

I wouldn't bother. The Smart Hub Pro doesn't have pro features. It's crippled as a modem/router, can't end turn off the firewall! No Dynamic DNS options, firewall says it's doing port forwarding but doesn't actually open the ports. It frequently drops connect, the linked app is slow.
BT services were great overall, this Smart Hub Pro is horrendous!
