So I have changed over from BT to EE. Do I need an EE smart hub

I was offered a new Hub when I switched (and a 2nd mini TV box) , so I took the opportunity (unfortunately) . I had to return my SMARTHUB 2 , otherwise I would have had to pay.

Problems I experienced ranged from losing my Digital Voice for 2 days whilst they switch it over , which no one told me in advance.  My TV channels through EE TV failed to work for a day.....My BT refund has taken 2 months , but EE have kept billing me.

Then the issue of CONTACTS and now the Advanced ALEXA digital phone issue ....

Not a good experience, and I am a BT trialist and in their infinite wisdom cancelled a proposed BT to EE migration trial in November !!! Maybe some of these issues could have been resolved then.

On the plus side ... the WIFI connectivity is a lot stronger and my devices with 5GHz WIFI can achieve test speeds of 700/800 Mbps. Which is just aswell since EE TV won't run on my EERO mesh because it uses a multicast protocol and I have use the EE WIFI on EE TV boxes.

@Jackoffiamonds @humeka There is a couple off issues with regards do you have to get the EE Router which would be by most accounts depending on the Package that you are to get with EE from the transfer from the BT side.

Depending on your current BT Router, if DV landline is required then minimum you would need is the BT Smarthub2 or the EE Equivalent's so that DV can be connected, and if you also have any BT owned Smart Wireless extenders.

At change over which is best organised by the BT side with your account, and as you already say that you have changed from your posting, THEN if BT/EE determined what you had was good enough for operation then you will NOT need to have any new EE equipment sent and continue to use what you have current.... HTH
