Porting landline number to EE to account in different name

Hello

I'm in the process of divorcing and moving out of current family home. Currently broadband and landline with Plusnet, in my name, but they won't transfer account ownership so looking at alternatives for ex as Plusnet don't offer phone anymore.

If he were to take out a contract with EE for broadband and digital phone, could he/we apply to port the landline number from Plusnet, even though the names wouldn't match on the accounts?

I guess the alternative would be to take out an EE account in my name, and then transfer it to him in 3 months, but I'd rather not do that if it can be avoided. It's in both of our interests to keep the existing landline number so trying to find a workaround!

@Elgar93   you will not be able to transfer your account.

However there is no reason they could not just start a new account with EE and the landline number on Digital Voice.

Give customer services a call and they should be able to help.
