Hi
I am having EE Broadband with 900+ Mbps but when I am using the EE Smart Router with the wired line, the speed test hits a maximum of 90 to 100 Mbps.
But when I try to remove the EE Smart router and use my old router Orbi RBR20 with the wired line, I am getting up to 250 to 270 Mbps.
I can't use my Orbi RBR20 due to the signal not reaching all the home, where EE broadband I have 3 Discs to get the Wi-fi signal all over the home.
But when it comes to Speed matters the EE Smart hub and Discs are not giving good speed.

Without a doubt, if you choose the right 1.
Try connecting the Orbi or a PC to the ONT as a direct PPPoE connection & see if the speed is more like as expected.

Hi,
As mentioned earlier, I connected Orbi directly to ONT as a PPPoE connection and the speed is double or more compared with EE Smart Hub.
My Point is why EE Smart hub is giving a low speed? Till the ONT we are getting the speed but due to the EE Smart hub router, the speed was reduced.
EE technical team should look into this type of issue and solve it soon.

@harish1 so have you reported your slow speeds to the Broadband Care Team?

You are still getting anywhere near the 900 Meg.
There have been many reports of Full Fibre Max speeds being slow with the EE Smart Router but not with other generic routers or direct into the ONT. Now try connecting a PC to the ONT as a direct PPPoE connection & see if the speed is more like as expected.

@harish1 one other thing to check is the ethernet cable between the ONT and the router WAN port, it is possible that a poor quality cable may be restricting the speed. I have seen other users report poor quality cables restricting the WAN speed.
The EE smart hub should be reporting the WAN link speed as 1000Mbps.

@Ian06 I have changed the routers not the cables. so both I tested with the same cables. Hope the issue lies with EE Smart router only.

@harish1 - yes I understand you have not changed cables, I just thought it was worth checking as you are not getting anywhere near the 900Mbps you should be on either router.
