My Ethernet connection from the EE router to my TV is fine but I have no signal from the EE router via Ethernet to my nvidia Shield consul.
why is this?
Do I need to get an engineer round or is the router blocking the connection?

Which router.
Have you checked the cable is plugged in correctly. Have you given it a minute to connect.

@JP1602 Have you checked that all the Ethernet ports on the EE Hub are working fine by plugging the TV into each one at a time then seeing the TV operates on all off the ports, that would be the first thing to do!

Hi @JP1602,
Have you been able to try to swap the TV Ethernet to the other ports to make sure they are all working as suggested by @JimM11?
If the TV continues to work in all of the ports, it may be worth trying another Ethernet to the Nvidia Shield.
You can also try to restart the console and the hub for 60 seconds to see if that helps.
