No Activation Start Date for Digital Landline after switchover from BT.

Hi. Switched everything over from BT. This has NOT been a smooth process unfortunately. Still 2 entirely separate companies as far as I can tell which has made this all a huge hassle. Current problem is I still have an active BT account due to the fact the Digital Voice is still active. EE call centre say they’re awaiting some sort of activation date for the landline? Everything else appears to have come over except this, which means I haven’t had a Final Bill from BT. In a few days, I will owe another month’s money despite switching to EE. Which obviously I’m not happy about.

Anyone know the timeframes I’m looking at here for the landline to move over too? Another week? A month? Call centre had very little info for me. I’m confused and at a loss how to proceed. Thanks

As already mentioned in previous post, BT and EE are trading as two different companies, BT is now focusing on the business side, with everybody else being moved over to EE.

With regards to EE Digital Home Phone service, well you'll just have to wait and keep in constant contact with EE themselves until they can give you an actual activation date.

I've had BT Digital Voice ever since trials started for it, and despite this, whenever I've tried to get EE equivalent, which note will be the exact same thing, albeit with EE branding, I'm told that I can not get it as of yet.

Just note that BT last year was previously in the process of upgrading everybody so that they could use Digital Voice, however they suspended it for certain reasons, although they are now again back updating their networks, which will finish in 2024.

So, if you've not noticed already, EE apparently won't have the same service available to all until 2025, see here...

"...We aim to finish the upgrade by 2025 and you'll be switched over from your home phone service to Digital Home Phone when it's available to you..."

So, like I've said before, with myself being a longtime BT Digital Voice user, the fact that I'm not even able to get EE Digital Home Phone service, all despite having the exact same service already setup and running, is completely absurd!

No point reading EE T&C as that will just tell you to contact them through their usual number.

Customers with compatible broadband services are eligible to take our Digital Home Phone service, but not all broadband services will support it. To find out if you can have a Digital Home Phone service call 0800 0798586.
