New router after upgrade

I currently have the EE smart router from 2023, together with a set of the white mesh discs. I couldn’t get a definitive answer from EE technical as to whether the discs would work with the latest router. The best they could offer was that they might or might not work.

As I live in a tall house with a router on the ground floor and living spaces on two floors above, where there are devices which need to be hardwired rather than connected by Wi-Fi, I need to be sure that I can use discs. I could spend £7 a month extra to get three discs from EE however that would defeat the purpose of the upgrade as the faster connection is cheaper.

I do not want to buy another set of discs and junk the current ones, so perhaps the best option is I don’t upgrade.

Any advice/help on compatibility would be gratefully received… thanks

What are the other addons?

All I have been trying to do is increase speeds at a cheaper price.

You don't need a new router! You have the white EE Smart Router. It'll work just as well on FF 150  as it does on FF 100.

I am still using an even older EE router on EE FF 150. It works perfectly well, reaches all the devices I want it to reach & the devices recognise it without changing anything.

As long as a router has at least 1 Gig WAN & at least 1 x 1 Gig LAN it's good for FF up to 1 Gig.

That’s the same is my current router. So if I upgrade speed, I‘ll keep the router and discs, but not use the new router. EE agent implied I would have to use the new one.

Agent was wrong 😞  ! You may continue exactly as you are, just on a faster BB.
