@simonAH Just so you know, the hub's hub manager doesn't have the full set of controls that are in the mobile app. EE literally reduced the functionality and usefulness of the in-built hub manager.

ahhh... got it. I've just today moved to EE (paying half for the same service ) from BT. The EE app still not pairing with the router so had to set up the repeaters using the web interface.

@simonAH If you have just moved, it does take a little time for the Account side to settle, then you may be able to link your accounts, If you do not see the BB account on your EE ID side, then the router will never pare to the app...

Thanks Jim, I had assumed that scanning the QR code with the camera in the app would work (well one would expect it to), but it just spins forever and fails. I'm logged in my EE account, again assuming my BT ID would not work now I am no longer using their services. Would have been far easier for the, to just move BT Broadband customers over to EE without all its hassle. Its the same company after all!

They even promote 'upgrading to EE' on the BT website when looking for broadband deals. Call BT, you talk to EE and get an EE SMS survey... maybe different business units and have their own P/L accounts, but EE are owned by BT and there for part fo the same machine.

It was acquired by the the BT Group in 2016 & sits alongside BT Retail, which is what you call 'BT' as equal ISP subsidiaries of BT Group with their own products, services & pricing.

So as I said - it is owned and operated by BT https://www.bt.com/ee

@simonAH Do not make any assumptions, your MyBT is going to shut down, your EE ID has to have the BB linked, you have an EE ID setup correct?

To be even more accurate, EE Ltd and Plusnet Plc are limited and public limited companies owned by British Telecommunications Plc which is then in turn owned by BT Group Plc which then has a load of other holding companies above that.

So BT ISP isn’t actually a different ‘company’ but a division of British Telecommunications Plc which works at the same level as EE Ltd, which is its own company. But that being said you could make the argument that BT, as everyone knows it, owns EE Ltd and therefore are the same company insofar as British Telecommunications Plc owns the lot under the BT Group Plc grouping also…

Either way my EE Smart Hub (2023) which is a BT Smart Hub 2 within the casing, is not working with the EE app, only with the My BT app so… meh. I just use the web interface for everything and if I wanted to restrict WiFi I’d have to use the MyBT app.
