Moving house - Unable to order EE broadband as current owners are in contract

Hi

We are moving house on 8/12/23 and we want to use EE broadband as our new provider.  I rang today to organise and I cannot place an order because the line is in use till 8/12/23 by the current owners (have given notice).  In fact they won’t even quote us as the line has an ‘order’ on it.

I was told that I can call back on the 9/12/23 and order but will take up to 2 weeks to go live which is too long due to husband WFH.

They were happy to quote on BT internet but this was more expensive without the benefits that come with EE.

Does anyone know if I have been told the correct information? Surely such a large company can put things in place to get us live from 9/12/23 (or as near as possible!).

@SnuffleBadger : You should be able to order EE BB now to be installed on or after 08/12/23. It usually takes 2 weeks from order to installation. It would be the same for BT BB.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

That’s what I thought but the agent even went off to check with her supervisor and the answer was the same.  Unable to order until the line no longer has an ‘order’ on it which will be after the 8/12/23. Think I will try calling again…..
