Had perfect fibre to the property connection since install 4 months or so now. Today we had a MJ Quinn van parked outside and their engineer up the pole. He was there a couple of hours. I had a feeling mine would go off and it has. I’ve spoke with EE and got an engineer coming in the morning to fix the fault.
is this normal for every home MJ Quinn connect they knock one home off?

@Zombie7 The answer should be NO! Your circuit should be safe and on the CBT, why so long up the pole connecting a Fibre should be no more than 10 minutes, unless shared copper and he was working on that, end off the day should not have messed at all with your connection. Reset your ONT if you don't have the three green lights on it!

Thanks for replying Jim, after reading your post I just got a cocktail stick and did a reset of the openreach modem, the POC light (my eyes aren’t the best) has gone back to flashing. I just hope the engineer can put it back right in the morning. I can hotspot my tv to my phone at least, just my security and cameras are toast at the moment.
I thought he was up the pole an age, he was up and down then on his phone all that was going through my mind was this guy is clearly out of his depth here.

@Zombie7 PON flashing green light, the ONT itself has light on it which is good but it is not Authenticating itself back to the OR Exchange, so if he did some swapping off the fibre cable has connected it on the wrong connector, or has had trouble with the new circuit and requested that the look at the Fibre assignment or re-assign then it is going to take the Engineer some time to work it all out, but it may just come good if someone is working on the software porting at present, if it goes Solid green you will be good to go!

Thank you for your time Jim, I’ll update if anything changes with the lights or after the engineer has been in the morning. 🤞

Just to update, an actual openreach engineer arrived this morning at 8am. Explained MJ Quinn was up the pole yesterday connecting a neighbour when he came down so did my internet. Openreach spent at least an hour checking everything up the pole and inside my home with his machines. He concluded that it was probably my cable that had been either kinked or damaged. Ran a new fibre cable from the pole and it is now perfect again. All in all he spent a couple of hours here. Really nice lad was very thorough and I’m so grateful openreach themselves attended.

@Zombie7 Glad it's all sorted, new sign on the pole, ""please be careful existing working fibre systems"" !
