Landline to digital number switch issues

Changed to you as elderly father was told landline would no longer operate and would need to go digital. Also told his old number would port over to new digital service….. still waiting for this to be done and this is causing all sorts of issues … hospital & doctors. Friends and carers … isolating him even more

Hello @Lookaftertheold ,

Welcome to the community,

Have you switched to full fibre broadband?

His phone would need to be plugged into the router with the correct adaptor for it to work, but if he has not been switched as yet, his landline would still work the way it has always done until such time as it is all in place. This will need to be done as the old copper lines are being switched off, but not until February 2027, would need more information in order to help you, he will not be cut off until it has all been done, if you get what I mean.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 7953 966 or +44 330 123 1105.

It could take a day or 2 for digital landline to work after your BB is installed.

Yep that’s what we were told . It was installed on 26th August and it’s now 6th September!
Yes that is all done but his old number has still not been ported over since 26th August .
