I've slightly damaged a phone cable in the garden (the cable is about 1cm in diameter and comes directly from the telegraph pole which is also inside the garden) while trimming the hedge, as a new one was installed following storm eowyn and I didn't realise that it had just been draped loosely through the middle of some bushes. The damage is fairly superficial - there's a cut in the surface of the cable but isn't very deep, and as far as I know there's no issue with the service. I've taped it up with insulating tape but thought I'd best report it just in case it required any attention. However, I can't seem to find any easy way to do this - all the phone options seem to be for checking and reporting faults on the line through an automated service (and don't connect to a person) and there doesn't seem to be any option to email or send a message.
I'd also like to raise some concerns about the installation of the cable itself. As above, it's been threaded through various bushes and fences then just run along the ground through high grass in the neighbouring property before connecting to another telegraph pole, which doesn't seem very sensible - the next time someone cuts everything back there's a high chance of it being damaged further.
Any advice would be appreciated!

@graham778899 why not report it directly to Openreach. Follow the steps here https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/damage-health-and-safety

The EE website says that Openreach is only responsible for damage outside the boundaries of your house and that "If the problem is in your own home, including the garden, it’s looked after by EE".

@graham778899 Did you bother to read the information I sent?

@graham778899 One way or other you can call EE CS, they will give you the price you have to repay for getting the repair done.

I did, but the EE website was very clear about Openreach not being responsible for anything within the property boundaries, which this is. I'll give them a try anyway but it seems odd for them to make that distinction if it's not the case.
