How do I block individual websites on my wifi?

I am looking to block individual websites on my router (news sites, trying to read the news less). I have been able to activate parental controls for ungrouped devices, but the specific websites I have added are still accessable on all my devices. I tried creating a group instead, but when I do that the app won't let me add any devices, simply saying 'no devices selected' when I try to add one.

I'd also like to just be able to block individual sites without the slew of other sites blocked by the parental controls function, but as far as I can tell, this is a function that every other ISP offers and that EE has decided to make impossible by locking all these functions in their terrible app.

Hey @callumadavis, you should definitely be able to sort this through the app, so if you're having trouble I'd recommend making sure both it and your phone's software are fully up to date.

If all else fails a reinstall can be worth a try as well.

From there, if you continue to struggle please get in touch with our team, and they'll be able to take a look into how everything is set up at our end.

EDIT: Looks like I have been able to change the settings on Light parental controls so that they only block the sites I want to. Except of course, the sites aren't actually blocked in any way...

EDIT2: Apparently none of my parental control settings are saving anyway (except the list of sites, which doesn't actually block them), so nothing I do on the section matters...

@callumadavis Don't waste your time, what you are trying to do is not a function of the EE Routers! If you find another that does it then go to them!

You should be able to do this using the EE app - see Block types of websites and specific websites

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

I initially tried following the instructions on that page. The problem is simply that the app doesn't work, so none of those instructions work.

@callumadavis Follow the advice off @Peter_W and get EE to check the account side, if that is not correct then you app is as good as a chocolate teapot in front off a chocolate fireguard!
