How can a potential purchaser cancel my contract

Received an email from EE telling me that my broadband service had terminated that day .
Apparently, the potential purchaser of my house - contracts not exchanged- had told EE that she was moving into the property on a particular date, which was then delayed.
I will now be without broadband for the remainder of my time in the house and potentially charged an early termination of contract fee.
How can my contract be terminated without my agreement?
On the plus side, the advisor at EE was extremely helpful. Cancelled the early termination fee and will set me up at the new property with the best deal he could find suitable. Unfortunately, was unable to reconnect my broadband at my current home. Just as well I don’t need it for work.

@Stroppymare  The buyer of your home has setup a BB with a different ISP this will terminate your EE BB.   You need to take this up with them as they have jumped the gun on this without thinking it’ll affect you.    They have done this so they can have BB the moment they move in.     They have done you a favour if you think about it as EE not charged you for early termination.      Some people just don’t think that their actions effect others.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

You should have beforehand received a letter from EE telling you someone was taking over your line & giving you 2 weeks to object to it.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP
I received nothing.
Just an email yesterday saying my contract was terminated

@Stroppymare   It would really be worth speaking to EE again, Ofcom rules say they should have notified you someone is taking over your line and given you the opportunity  to stop the take over. They  may be able to offer extra data on mobiles or something similar.

I would also be speaking to the buyer telling them as they have caused the cancelation of your broadband, you expect them to allow you to use the new service until you move out.  Find out when it is due to be live and ensure the new router is set up/sent  to your current place.
