HP Printer wont connect to new EE smart hub pro mac address filter error report

i recently upgraded to the EE smart hub pro (7) and all is fine apart from my HP Envy printer wont connect. the report says mac address filtering may be enabled. ive tried everything there's no option for disable it. the printer detects router and starts to connect via password or wps button then says failed to connect. ive even tried the HP smart app the problem seems to do with filtering? i dont want to go and buy a new HP printer if that does the same thing. any help appreciated

@dags9475 - as @JimM11 has suggested, try enabling the Compatible WiFi network and connecting the printer to that instead. Note, if you want to try the WPS method then you will need to use the 'Start WPS' button on the Compatible WiFi page of the Hub Manager rather than the physical button on the router casing.

@dags9475 There is NO mac address filtering on any of the EE router's, try turning off the 6ghz and 5ghz bands temp until you get the printer to connect, do it via the web manager http://192.168.1.254 and turn those bands back on once connected.

The router also has a compatible mode if you need to set that up if you are looking at wpa for higher specked devices.

thank you for all you help. unfortunately nothing has worked. the printer is old so may buy a new hp printer and see if that works.

I have the same issue. New Smart Hub Pro, everything working except my old HP inkjet which will not connect to the network. Very annoying, it has worked with every other router I’ve had. Shouldn’t have to buy a new printer - what’s happening EE?

@KJCook Did you try the compatible network setup for the printer side?

@JimM11 , thanks for that - just tried it and it works! Not ideal having a separate network for just one device, but cheaper than a new printer 😂

@KJCook You are correct on both account's they are just not making it easy in the slightest... See how it goes for a couple off day's, at least they seem to have got the Channel Banding not to bad, but there does appear to be zero flexibility now with the main wi-fi, i have noticed it with the latest FW update to the EE Smarthub+ pushed 2 weeks ago.

I  have the same problem with my HP Envy printer, I have spent hours on line with the HP engineers and they are convinced it is an EE problem. How do we persuade EE to do something about this?  The HP engineer says it relates to the lack of info within the EE booster. (Whatever that means)
