I moved from BT to EE last October. I did so because their broadband checker showed 1.6gbps at my address. Couldn’t though as I wanted to keep the TV package. Been checking the upgrade page for a while. Always been Gigabit essentials and Gigabit all rounder both at 900mbps. Noticed today that there’s now a gigabit full works package at £71.99 a month. However it’s still at 900mbps. As I said the EE site at sign up said 1.6, the call centre operator said 1.6 was available at my address, and the openreach site says 1.6. See pics of package and openreach. £71.99 for 900mbps seems at bit steep. I was hoping when I saw it, I could now upgrade, but it doesn’t seem right. I’ll probably phone and ask, but wondered if something similar had happens to anyone?

You can't get the 1.6 Gig plan while you want EE TV.
The 900 Meg All Rounder comes with extra features as listed in that spec.

See the following diffs between the various levels of EE BB plans:

Random addition/question.
So I was on EE full fibre 70mb full works. I ordered 900mb but my account kept running into issues and it never went to open reach - so in the end they cancelled my contract and I took out a new account for 1.6GB - which worked quite well for me.
I went for the gamers package - as its great value with gamespass included.
I've been told that nobody on full fibre can get the broadband backup (we both work from home so we liked that) - is that because full fibre is reliable so it's 99.999% unlikely to go down? Or is it a system limitation? Just curious..
BB Backup was a saviour on so many occasions as our internet was up and down a lot with local faults - so I'm curious how the FTTP will perform.

@mirrors90 : What do you mean by BB backup? Is that the Hybrid Connect which is a mobile BB router that kicks in when the main BB goes down (as it can do; I wouldn't like to put a 99.999% reliability on it). If so, the 1.6 Gig packages don't come with Hybrid Connect nor yet even Stay Connected.
I would imagine that Gamer packages fall over all over the shop for a variety of reasons 😜

Sorry, yes! Hybrid Connect.
I just wondered if there was a technical reason for it.

@mirrors90 Can you not call and see if you can have it as an addon to your package?

Oh , interesting ! I was told by the sales guy that hybrid connect isn’t available on fttp plans.
tbf, I’ll just wait and see, I have 5g phones and get good speeds so if anything happens I’ll get by on hotspot - if it happens then I’ll have to look at it

@mirrors90 No problem, the hotspot just pins you to the device which unfortunate is not the router, where Hybrid keeps them all working, at least you are aware!
