Hi again
I have a very odd problem.
My EE smart hub with software revision above, on factory settings, works fine with all attached devices, wifi and ethernet, but fails to show most of the ethernet devices on the Hub Manager My network page.
It lists the ethernet devices connected directly to the hub (Port 1) and those connected to port 2 via a netgear ethernet switch appear as 13 devices on this diagram. But when I click on that port it shows no devices connected:
And clicking on the large 'Ethernet connections' box just reveals the one directly connected device on Port 1, namely a hive hub:
I'm pretty sure this used to work fine up until today. I tried swapping connections to the ports but get the same result.
Any ideas please?
Thanks
Geoff

Since my last post I did a little experimenting. I disconnected the netgear router from the 15m cable connecting it to the EE hub and connected a laptop to that connection, effectively making it a direct connection to the hub. The laptop connected fine but it still wasn't visible to the hub on the network topology page, It correctly reported that there was a device connected to that port but when I clicked on the port claimed there was nothing connected.
The cable is a Cat 6 cable and it's working perfectly.
Odd??

And one more post here. I swapped the connected ports over moving the connection to port 3 . And it now lists all the devices correctly.
At a total loss to know why. Happy it's working but would love to shed light on why?
Thanks for bearing with me!

And one more update - after a few minutes of working correctly it's swapped back to not showing the devices even though they are all working well.
I give up (for now)!

@Geoffrogers1078 What model of EE Router do you actually have from the label printed on it, or take a look at the link below.
https://ee.co.uk/help/broadband/getting-started/compare-our-range-of-broadband-hubs
Edit:- when you click on the port ie 2, change the filter to see if it thinks they are not connected and displays,
Also you are saying Netgear switch and then Router attached to the Ethernet port, so either mention correct what you have and if so switch is it a managed or un-managed type. Not all things get through the EE router's for attached devices, my Tp-Link powerline would show sometimes, more often not, but checking the IP it assigned and web manager to that IP i could see the Devices all attached fine TP wise, but EE just struggled to display....
If you have the latest EE Smarthub+ version of router, status screen will show you the FW it is on, and the latest was as below unless newer has been posted. FW: r2.68.18-R-1303195-PROD-83002 and the gui is at App version 2.36.4. 11/02/2025
