EE smart hub admin password requirements incompatible with password box limit

Jerubaal
Visitor

I have just set up my smart hub and changed the admin password, within the guidelines it specifies:

Manage your password

You'll be asked to enter this password before you can access the set-up options in your Hub Manager.

Your password is case sensitive and must be 8-64 characters long. You should include a combination of upper and lower case letters and numbers. Your new password should not be anything that someone else can easily guess.

However, when I try to log into the advanced screen, or the IP6 screen, the admin password box is limited to just 20 characters, so it is impossible to log in. Someone forgot to add that bit to their UAT script, by the look of it.

So, factory rest and try again with a shorter password...  how do I send this issue as user feedback?

@Jerubaal  which Smart Hub do you have - there are 4 that I can think of, model number and firmware would be useful.

One for @bobpullen  who may be able to help.

@Jerubaal Have a look at this post just in case it is the same issue, if so already known and reported.

@Jerubaal - how soon did you change the admin password? I'm wondering if the first time firmware upgrade fixes it?

Are you able to confirm what version of firmware your hub is running (should tell you under Advanced Settings > Technical log in the Hub Manager), and also if the situation remains the same today?
