Hello everyone.
I hope everyone is doing fine.
Got simple question regarding router choice.
What's better
EE new Wifi7 router or my own Asus rog rapture gt-ax6000 for 1.6Gbps connection ?
What would be best preference?
Thank you in advance.

@daugava89 Zero is currently known about the new Pro router at present, so there is no comparison that can be made. For flexibility of use, you will not be able to beat the Asus that's for sure.

Hi @daugava89
As @JimM11 said your free carrier router will not be as good or future proof as a third party manufactured device.
This is also a relatively new technology.
Thanks

A good ASUS is always preferable to any ISP-supplied router.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

@daugava89 really only you can decide.
Some things the new EE Router does have over your Asus:
More 2.5Gb LAN ports.
WiFi7
A WiFi extender
In reality, a simple 2.5Gb switch will give you more ports, and you can get Asus mesh to provide more coverage if you need it. You also get a lot more freedom and information from you Asus
BT/EE seem to have made in more and more difficult to manage with their routers. Stick with the Asus until you find a better one, then sell it to get some of your money back when you get a new one.

Answer to this question depends entirely on what you want/value out of a router and what devices you're planning on connecting to it?
In terms of hardware specifications, the Asus is 'only' dual band (2.4GHz & 5GHz) and therefore doesn't have 6GHz support. The Smart Hub Pro is tri band and uses 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz. Main benefit of the latter is the reduced congestion, and the fact that operating at higher channel widths (read: higher speeds) isn't subject to DFS/radio regulation like it is on 5GHz. This said, you'll need Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 devices in order to use the 6GHz band and it doesn't quite reach as far as 5GHz.
Already pointed out by others, but the EE hub obviously has Wi-Fi 7 whereas the Asus doesn't. WiFi 7 will give you a fraction more in terms of maximum obtainable speed on 2.4GHz and 5GHz, as long as the connecting device is also Wi-Fi 7. Wi-Fi 7 on 6GHz potentially allows for a pretty significant boost in speed.
Again, pointed out by others, but the Smart Hub Pro also has more 2.5GbE LAN ports compared to the Asus.
In terms of software, AsusWRT will be much more feature-laden compared to the EE hub; Only likely to matter if you're the 'tinkering type' or are already using some of these features.
You own the Asus hub; I imagine you'd be expected to return the EE one should you ever leave.
Finally, the aesthetics. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose, but I'm not sure that Asus is taking home any catwalk awards 😉
