After going round the houses quite a few times, I finally spoke to a chap in Belfast who logged into the router and extender to see what was going on.
He could see that the extender was reporting a 2.5 Gbps speed, whereas the admin portal on the hub was reporting 1000 Mbps.
Now that little conundrum has been solved I can work on expanding the network of extenders.

Hi @GDog3
1000Mbs (1Gb) is the ethernet port speed limit which in theory is available on demand , not what your extender can provided which will be limited to the WiFi speed available but if connected to ethernet will not be more than 1Gb.
Thanks

Yeah…. And the *extender* port speeds are 2.5 Gbps

Those are only the link speeds of the individual links. Overall the bottleneck will be the slowest speed in the circuit. Sounds as tho' you have a 1 Gig ONT.
What is the name of the EE BB plan are you on including its speed?

a) I have a 2.5 ont
b) I have 1.6 Gbps FFTP
Please read my post again.

@GDog3 perhaps another firmware upgrade to correct the status is in development!!
Am surprised no one else has not reported the issue.
Does make me wonder what tech support are able to see that uers can't - does not make much sense to have two lots of info.
