EE WI-FI question

Greetings,

I was on a BT package that provided a free WI-FI extender disc with my router as my room is a Wi-fi dead spot.

Recently an engineer came and replaced our BT Smart HUB with an EE SH32B Smart Hub.  Unfortunately, the BT Wi-fi extender disk hub would not work with the EE Smart Hub, and somewhat ridiculously EE did not provide any EE Smart Wi-Fi replacement.

I went ahead and purchased a EE Wi-fi extender on Amazon, Model SW10A, that in the description said was compatible with the SH32B EE Smart Hub, but I cannot, by hook or crook, get it to pair, either wirelessly or with ethernet.

Can someone confirm if this hub works with this particular model?

Thank you kindly for reading.

You have got the wrong Smart WiFi extenders. The Smart WiFi (2023) (SW10A) is meant for the EE Smart Hub (2023) (SH20A).

For the Smart Hub Plus (SH31B or SH32B), of Set up your Home Broadband EE Router, you need the  Smart WiFi Plus (SW30A), of Setting up Smart WiFi.

Hi @Templar

Do you need them with the new router as the signal should be better.

Thanks

Hello @Northerner

Yes, it is an absolute dead spot.  I live in an extended part of the house, so the wall of my bedroom that connects with the rest of the house basically acts as a Wifi signal dampener.  No bars at all.  The Wifi disc that I pared with my BT router sorted the problem, but EE never provided any substitute.

I didn't mind buying an EE Wifi extender, but obviously, I would have liked it to function.

@Templar No it does not and reported will not work you need the SW30A to go with the SH32B router.

Also pretty sure the SW30A is ONE that you CANNOT get from Amazon....

Hello @JimM11 ,

Thank you for your answer.  I will send it back, and order an SW30A from somewhere.

I've just checked with Amazon and the hub I ordered was labelled an SW30A, but they inexplicably sent me an SW10A.

So annoying when this happens.
