Hey all.
I’m trying to use my own modem with my new EE Sogea line. I’ve always done this in the past in my old house and Adsl for many years, I work in tech so have a fairly good understanding how it works. I have a pfsense and UniFi router.
I’ve tried both a hg612 which I’ve used for years and new Vigor 612.
Is there anything different I need to do with the sogea line? What am I missing?
i unfortunately don’t have much time to diagnose as in this house, without internet, we don’t even have tv😂

SOGEA should make no diff. You just don't have a landline no. & services.
Which EE Fibre product have you bought? What speeds were you promised?

Hey.
I totally agree, hence confused. I thought maybe because I didn’t have a dial tone it confused the modem.
I’m on a Fibre max 100 but get over that. Also have a smart router.
ive basically picked up my router from my old house and with the exception of changing the connection details, done nothing, not that there is much to change.
I’m the router log, it said connection timeout. Might see if I can try direct with a laptop tomorrow.

@TheDarkLord If you have Fibre max, that uses G Fast not VDSL. The HG612 is VDSL only, there is no such thing as a Vigor612, but if it is the 130 then that too is VDSL - ie up to 80Mbps only.

Ah. 😂
I was not aware it was a g fast, that’s the issue them. I got a Vigor 167 but decided to buy it on Amazon so returnable. Looks like I need a 166.
wow, Thankyou !

@TheDarkLord yep the 166 should sort you out.
Hope you get it sorted soon.

The modem is not listening for phone dial tones at all but the BB tones which are of higher frequencies.
You have the G.Fast product but the modems referred to are VDSL only.
