I was switched by BT to EE in December 2024. Already had an ageing BT router so expected to be sent an EE Smart Hub Plus router as part of the new deal. How do I obtain that new router?

The EE App process to set up and pair the new router allows the details to be changed to that of your old Hub, meaning passwords do not need to be changed on any devices and they should connect automatically when completed.
You connect to the router using the new details and then go to the EE App that your Broadband is linked to, and Set Up Wi-Fi Controls.
Alternatively, this can be done manually through the Web Interface

I must be daft, but I have tried multiple times on the EE app to find out how to use it to set things up.. of course no instructions anywhere to say this is what you can do.. so what is the route in the app to these setup facilities please?

There should be instructions in the box with some of this detail, I would have thought.
In your EE App if it doesn't automatically take you there then you should try going to
Manage > Broadband and then Set Up WiFi Controls should appear in there.
This takes you through the Router pairing process I believe if it hasn't been presented initially.

It is true that there is some very basic info in the leaflet, but I was expecting something via the app akin to the way BT supports WholeHome disk set-ups by aiding with best placement.
i have now finally found out how to reach the same basic info via the app, which is far from intuitive. The options for changing aspects of the Hub or Disks via the app it turns out are hidden beneath the three dots at the top right of my iPhone screen. The ability to change the Hub SSID and password via one of these options I suppose is useful, but that’s almost the limit of what you can do via the app. The full Web interface is really required.
