EE Smart Hub App vs Hub Manager

Hi,  I can see a Device with an IP address of 192.168.xxx.12 and a Device name of LinkTap on the Hub Manager (W11 PC); but can not find this device when viewing All Devices in the EE App (Android 15).

Has anyone else had such an experience?

I do wish EE would let us use the Hub Manger to do everything. I am sure the App is OK for most people but I am technical and prefer using Hub Manager over an App.

Very frustrating not to be able to find a Device in the App as that's the only way to Rename it!

I have also noticed that in the App you have two different ways of viewing your Devices. The Home Network view and the Groups / All Devices View. Trouble is they are totally disconnected from each other. I make a Group, add various Device to it but you do not see these Groups in either Home Network view or in Hub Manager.

I do wish EE would stop bothering with three different ways of looking at and managing the network, just stick with Hub Manager,

What are the 1st 4 pairs of its MAC Addy?

The Groups view is solely for Access/Parental Control & is not visible the router's GUI.

@Croft5 You better get used to using the app, or get a different router that works!

Thanks for the reply. I agree that one use is for parental control, not something I need any longer as the youngest is 35 😁

If I did wish to control it I would need to be able to find it in the App, that's my point here, I can see it using Hub Manager but not in the App. This is what concerns me, why do I not see all my Devices in the App????

Hi JimM11, so true, I am seriously considering buying my own Wi-Fi 7 kit, but wish to give EE a chance as its still quite new for them.

@Croft5 That's why they told me to go, overnight they completely destroyed with a FW update... And that was after a year of minor oop's and not to mention the every 2 week app update to what is working now, what have they broke. As long as you have the patience go with it.
