EE 1600 mbps, buffering on videos over 1080p

I've recently switched from 1000mbps on sky to 1600mbps on EE. Now everything I try to watch over 1080p on YouTube for example constantly stops and starts. Every few seconds. Absolutely appalling. Is this a common issue? Is there a fix?

@Sc0j0 When did you change over from one to the other, and what is the streaming method wired / wireless also to what device etc....

We are getting the same thing. I work in IT so checked all the basics.

We have a 1.6gb link and every other site and streaming app is fine. Speed tests are all good as is WiFi connections. 1.3gb over WiFi on my phone and over 700mb via Apple TV.

Rebooting the router and changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 etc doesn’t help. Rebooting the Apple TV’s or YouTube app on your phone doesn’t help either.

Currently trying to watch a video and it keeps dropping it 360p and still freezing. Stats for nerds says speed is only 6554kpbs. Speedtest on the Apple TV is currently giving 709mb down and 115mb up with 1ms on jitter and 0% loss.

Clearly something to do with EE/BT or more likely YouTube 😞

@Gazwhereuat You tube if everything else is streaming fine?

@Gazwhereuat - any example videos you're willing to share to see if others can replicate?

Same issue here.

Started about 10 days ago. Constant buffering or dropping down to the lowest resolution in YouTube. It’s definitely not the connection itself as Apple TV streams perfectly in 4K HDR.

More concerningly, just as a test last night I set up my Nord VPN account on my Apple TV box and YouTube started working perfectly. Maybe a coincidence but I sure hope EE isn’t throttling YouTube on their end.
