I moved over to EE from Plusnet just 2 months ago in order to keep my landline and have now received an email saying my contract ends in October 2026. So does EE only operate 4 month contracts ? why wasn't I informed of this before signing up and what was the point of accepting me 2 months ago and sending me the broadband kit if the contract is ending in another 2 months time?
If this is meant to indicate that prices are rising then the email should say that and not hide behind 'your contract is ending'. I am already regretting moving from Plusnet. What a load of hassle.

@Marr10ttlane I was also automatically transferred to EE from Plusnet. It was made clear in the terms & conditions that the price, service & term length would be the same as your old contract with Plusnet. My contract with Plusnet would have expired in January 2027. So my new contract with EE also expires at the same date.
From what I've read on the Plusnet forums, you would only have started a 2 year contract if you initiated the transfer yourself, rather than wait for Plusnet to do it for you, but it would have been under new contract terms, rather than the previous Plusnet terms.
As previously asked, when was your Plusnet contract due to end?

When would have your BB contract with PN ended if you hadn't moved it to EE?
These BB contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the non-discounted price on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly migrate, cancel or upgrade.

I would have stayed with plusnet and simply extended my contract had I been able to keep my landline (which wasn't possible). So basically your saying I have moved over at a temporarily discounted rate which will now rise after 4 months - how do I find out how much?

When was your original contract end date with plusnet? Was it also in 4 months? If so the same thing would have happened there .
Regards the informing, how did you place the order as you're query would be with them, you'd have received an email confirming it too. Ultimately I think you're making a major issue out of something that would've been happening on plusnet too. You'll have to call or use your online account to see options for renewal. FWIW too you'll get another communication closer to the contract end telling you exactly what's happening & options, it's too early for that
