Hello!
I have recently moved to EE broadband and it has been mostly working pretty well. I have had an issue with it for a while where the connection would drop for a minute/two sometime in the hour of 12am every single day. It has also changed with the clocks so it has stayed at the hour of 12am.
It's incredibly frustrating to be doing something and being disconnected from everything. Playing online gets hit the hardest as you can imagine. The connection drops for both Wi-Fi and Ethernet.
The logs in the admin panel of the router don't show anything for this at all. This wasn't a problem when I was using Sky.
There are no other issues. Speed is fantastic, the other 23 hours of the day works perfectly.
I am on the 1700mbps package using the Wi-Fi 7 Smart Hub Pro.

@JimM11 wrote:@pcoventry8 Hope you find some service that fills all your needs. Have a good one, you tried but alas....👍
Thanks Jim,
My "need" is being able to pay games without it dying. Not a big thing really lol

My router did not do it yesterday night. It rebooted itself around 03:00 am when it updated the firmware tho. I'm not going to be home for the next 2 nights so I can't tell you the new version number nor check if the issue is still happening.

There we go… just like every other night. My first disconnect has struck……. Nothing has changed

Are you on the new FW or still the old one?

My service is probably going to be cut off at 1am - but yup.. Just had the same. Playing Battlefield on GeForceNow "We are getting you back in the game" head blown off whilst I waited..
I even did a reboot of the router - and got the FW update listed above 😕

I'm on the FTTP 900 mbps and tonight is the first night in weeks it didn't cut off between 2:30 and 3:30 for me..hopefully not a coincidence with the firmware. Strange that mine cuts out 2:30-3:30 while others on 1.6 gbps smart hub pro seem to be 12-12:30

@bigsteve47 The time that you quote is the normal estimated for any Engineering time like FW updates etc to be applied to the routers, smart wireless devices etc, and part of that process is always a re-boot of the device and around the 3.00am mark. As FW updates they should be once in a blue moon, months apart, my EE Smarthub+ is up 90 day's currently and that was only reset because of FF FTTP upgrade I did, and to check HOW that operation was with/on the EE router. And can report NO/ZERO issues with it in any way/shape/format.
OR are not ones to continually force systems work, it's not what there business is about, i have only had one Network reset and that reason is unknown, the effect on the router was short lived as i did not even know/suspect but can go back find it in the log if i needed, ONLY because i am currently monitoring the EE Smarthub+ as it was reported needed reset all the time to keep working, I reset mine on day 85, the only shown was the time web manager pages took to open and move about, NOTHING else was wrong in any day to day operation.

@Cwj9 If you could have a look to see what FW that your router is on rather than just post up blind, and as you were up in anticipation off the issue, you may be right.!

My entire reason joining this forum was to highlight that with BT we'd have the very occasional (every several months) the odd restart at around 3am and we put it down to dns servers being updated / something scheduled from BT's end - no big deal when it happens less than a handful of times per year. EE has been every single day without fail until yesterday..right now we are at 1 Day 9 Hrs 10 Mins connection time which has been the longest stretch since November of no cut outs so hopefully the firmware version (r2.64.5-R-1298597-PROD-1) that was pushed has actually fixed something.

@bigsteve47 You can only keep an eye on it and see how it performs!
