Am I correct in thinking the Smart Wifi extenders can't connect to each other, only to the Smart Hub? (I'm sure I read that on here but I can't find it now.) This wasn't the case for the black BT complete wifi discs. This has caused a problem for me as since I upgraded to FTTP - which entailed moving from BT to EE - I'm getting patchy coverage in parts of the house.
My Smart Hub Plus is in a slightly odd place as the ONT (and previously the phone socket) are in one corner of the house. With the BT FTTC I could connect 2 discs to the Smart Hub 2 and a 3rd disc to one of other discs to reach the furthest point. But now that furthest point tries to reach the SH+, not one of the other extenders.
Can anyone confirm this before I take it up with EE? I have solved the issue with TP Link X55 but this means I'm currently paying for a service I'm not using.

@RichieGee Unfortunately do not use any off the EE Smart wireless devices, but you are correct in the recollection of seeing a post where the extenders were to work in mesh or cascade mode, BUT as there is no method of setting in APP or Web manager to the operation, then it is basically down to the units to sort it out, WHICH they do appear to be not doing so. This now becomes a question of i would assume EE CS Tech support to confirm to you how they are expected to work. Best i can do for you, but if you do find out post back any response that you get.

Thanks @JimM11 , that puts me on more solid ground when I contact them.

@RichieGee When i get time will search for the post, and link it for you if i do find it, but it was a while ago... Found it first of, you would not believe it, and linked to you.

Just another quick note for you, the AX55 you settled on is not the same as a EE+ and its Mesh...

Yes, I've disconnected the EE router completely and I'm using the AX55 in router mode wired straight into the ONT. It's infinitely better - my network is stable throughout the house, the app doesn't freeze up, device management is a breeze (but I don't want to get too off topic, suffice to say the move to EE has been disappointing).

@RichieGee It's one of those, and would say that you have done exactly like it should be done, but as i said, they are just not like for like. Tp-Link make good kit, and will work more than likely as you would expect and more than likely without the headache's also.

Understood @JimM11 , thanks. At the end of the day I just want a reliable network - BT delivered this, EE doesn't.

Over the decades, I had the occasional issue w BT. But when it worked, it worked. Years without stress.
EE. More aggravation in 2 months than I had over decades. Latest compo hit bank account this morning. I’d rather have had none.
Little wonder ⬇️

@Minkey1 Got the compo fight scheduled for the 5th, lost the 21 day's delayed activation charge fight, just could not get billing to understand how can you charge extra, for a service that you had scheduled in your paperwork side, then delayed by 21 day's, go back to that point then charge from that date, then confirm on the e-mail MR you are now live 21 day's later, sweep it under the carpet, charge me more, then NOT expect me to call you, have the EE CS all flummoxed skirt around the issue, NOT supply anything, and say well maybe it will sort its self all out, THINK NOT speak to you in 30 day's from when you activated it on the 5th Nov as per your email and text.... Later say's I. Hope your day's went well at the weekend.🙄

@JimM11 Good luck Jim.
Yes thanks, excellent family lunch Sunday, and birthday in Harrogate yesterday with lunch at Square & Compass ( for anyone who knows the area). Plenty of vino collapso.
Day of rest today playing with my new AirPods Pro 2 👍
