I've been having issues since our upgraded speed. My phone keeps dropping speed by going to 2.4mghz. Sometimes it'll kick back in to 5mghz but sometimes the only way to get it back on is by going into hub manager and turning 2.4mghz off then back on. On doing this I noticed a device that's connected to the hub. The name is a bunch of numbers and when googling it says it's my public IP address. I'm not technically minded so I'm not sure if that should be there or not? Should I have one? Is it safe? I hadn't noticed it before but that's not to say it wasn't there. With regards to the phone issue, some have said it's a faulty router, others say my phone. Is there a way to only connect to 5mghz on a particular device? Also, it's not showing both in the hub and on the app that my device isn't connected which it is but it just won't show despite me reconnecting, refreshing, etc. Any help greatly appreciated

  1. Usually when a device is not ID'ed by name by the router, it is ID'ed by its MAC addy. What is this no., obscuring the last 2 parts?
  2. All devices on the Net will have a public IP addy. It can't work otherwise.
  3. What is the name of the EE BB plan are you on including its speed? Which EE router & WiFi extenders, if any, do you have (read label or post a pix)?
