Confused about access to fibre at our property.

Hey all,

I'm a current EE mobile customer and today received an email about the new EE. In that email it showed the superfast 900mb broadband, which peaked my interest as we're currently with BT but only get 80mb and BT have never said anything about our nearest exchange being upgraded to fttp.

So I log in to my EE account and go to the broadband section and low and behold it says we can get the superfast 900mb broadband when I put our address in.

Impossible I think, BT would've told us we could get superfast and plus our friends about 20 houses away say they've just gone to EE and were only offered 67mb as the fastest.

Anyway, so off I go to myBT and log in and voila, nadda, nothing. Click upgrade and nothing faster is offered.

But then I saw elsewhere on this forum about the BT availability website, so I've put in the uprn for our address and it shows this....

Under wbc fttp it says available!

**bleep**

Can someone clarify that I'm not seeing things and that does in fact mean we can get superfast broadband because I'm now confused as hell.

If that's the case it's weird as hell because we've never been notified of that and it's weird I can't upgrade to it from myBT account.

Thanks

@BeardedMidget   The BTW checker can use a number of inputs, the most accurate being a phone number, then the address checker. But there is a lot of information missing from your pic, you need to include the other columns to the right of what you show, as well as the text below to give a more complete picture.

Easier done on a PC/Laptop rather than a phone, but tablet should also work.

I've managed to get through to a BT agent online and they've confirmed that we do in fact now have fibre on our estate.

Apparently the work was done a few weeks ago, nice of them to let us know 🤷🏻‍♂️

@BeardedMidget  lucky you, I guess it may depend if you are anywhere near the end of your contract , but yes surprised BT or even Openreach have not been out with leaflets and or emails.

That said, it may also be the BT Group being busy concentrating on the new EE offerings - but in any event you can look forward to more options.
