@mario1955 : Which router? You can get the 2.4 GHz WiFi band on all routers that are not Ethernet only. You could possibly disable the 5 GHz band & it could slow down devices near to it but not so much further away.
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

@mario1955 which router do you have?
EE routers have both 2.4 and 5Ghz wireless built into them, the newer ones have combined SSID's
What is it you are trying to do? With more information we should be able to help you.

@mario1955 All the routers support 2.4Ghz by default, and the device makes decision to what is best to connect to, if it has that choice, the speeds depend on your device and on 2.4Ghz the defaults are 70 and 150mb/s. Exception is at 300mb/s and that is a wi-fi 4 connection but on 5Ghz band. Hope that answers your question.
