I am currently on 1.6Gbps/115Mbps broadband and am paying £71.99 but i happened to notice that if i were to sign up to a new deal it would be £42.99 a month on the website.
am i right in assuming that is a "brand new customers only" deal like the old nationwide advert? or am i likely to get the lower price if raise a query on the subject?

Yes, you are whatever the "old nationwide advert" was. The EE FF 1.6 Gig for £43 is for the Core plan for new custs. You are not a new user & you probably have a higher facilitated plan than Core.

It’s was a somewhat humourus advert by the nationwide bank highlighting the tempting offers companies use to bring in new customers at the cost of existing customers , hence “brand new customers only”

@soupladel When your contract runs out you can see what the renew deal for you will be for the next 24 Months. Look at like for like from other ISP's to match one off the 4 EE Plans. See link will be easier for you.
