What time on the broadband contract end date does the broadband typically stop working? Is it midnight eg if end date is 8th the broadband will cut off as the 7th ends and hits midnight of the 8th? Or does it still work on the 8th?

@Shan74 until you change providers or upgrade it’ll not cut off it’ll continue. You don’t get cut off at the minimum term.

@Shan74 It really all depends on what you are doing, end date is not a typical cut off point as such. You may have to re word your statement or question.

There is no end date as such! These BB contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the non-discounted price on a rolling 14-days' notice basis until you explicitly migrate, cancel or upgrade.

@Shan74 Well if you are lucky, you will be in bed asleep, when you get the E-mail from your new provider that they have swapped you over and you can now put on there router, as for time it is any ones guess and what is involved.
Edit: and you should not have cancelled anything with EE unless you are moving to an altnet or someone like virgin, or if your new ISP told you that you have to do it yourself.

It'll be when your new ISP takes over.

Thanks …EE have said they will send a text to say when disconnected on the 8th ..the new provider involves an engineer visit which is not happening until the afternoon so wanted to understand if there would be a period where we had no internet as EE finishes on the 8th and the engineer is not coming until between 1pm and 6pm (total failure on sales/service team who said it just plugs in where previous broadband was inserted and failed to mention that virgin requires a specific virgin box and if u have a BT/Openreach an engineer needs to change it over for it to work). Lots of apologies given by Virgin but just thought someone may typically know when old EE service tends to be switched off but sounds like it could be anytime on the 8th (where I thought it would be automated).
