I have just bought an Asus DSL AX82U to swap for the EE Smart Hub but it seems I cannot complete the last step, and am hoping someone may be able to help me with an answer or an idea. You may spot a 'faux pas' in my set-up. First I power off the SH and remove the internet cable then power up the Asus and connect the internet cable. Next I connect an ethernet cable to my laptop and a LAN slot on the Asus and open a browser, at this point the Asus GUI is supposed to open automatically but doesn't nor has it opened on any other attempt at connection (Windows 11,Firefox). I open the GUI on my OnePlus 9 Pro and find it to be hit and miss regarding input. it connects to my network and I have three blue lights and one red light on the Asus, after a bit more trial and error the red light turns white (not blue) and when I put my mouse cursor on the internet icon in the System Tray it says internet access which I still do NOT have. I have reconnected the SH and once again everything is working perfectly. I hope the solution lies out there and I would like to ffer my thanks in advance.

@Mustrum : Those merge posts/threads notifications are deceptive as to who is doing what to which. I merely merged 2 of @MrX1 's threads, which he posted separately due to not being able to use Reply, with this total thread. Nowt to do with your particular post.
Anybody in their right mind would replace an EE SH by an ASUS VDSL2 router 😉 .

I,ve managed to open the GUI on my laptop which makes things easier but still no nearer getting access. When I click on my network and enter the Asus password the network just says 'No internet, secured' Now the GUI is open are there any suggestions you could make. I just thought I,d say when you mentioned altering the Wan in your own Asus I,ve noticed in the GUI that it says 'Primary WAN Disconnected' and 'Secondary WAN-network cable unplugged' I can appreciate that this might mean nothing at all.

Sorry, but would you mind telling me exactly how you are connecting your lappy to & opening the router's GUI. Also where exactly have you entered your EE BB username/password in the router.
I have got my ASUS up & running just for you & believe I can lead you thro' to a correct config but I need to know exactly what you are doing & where you are. If necessary post images of what you are seeing & I'll do likewise.

I,m on my settee with the laptop in front and the Asus to my left. I,d been tinkering with the Asus app on the phone when it sprang open but it was the Aura part which controls the lights on the AsusI tried a few buttons and screens when the GUI open on the big screen. Now I,ve got the GUI in front of me and the Asus has 3 blue lights and 1 white light that changes to red now and again.

Sorry, forget the app. It is only complicating things.
What of the router can you see from the lappy?
Where exactly have you entered your EE BB username/password in the router.

In the GUI there is a Quick Internet Setup where the first screen wants your country and Isp ,the next screen wants your Username/Password (the funny thing is when I rang EE for the username/password there was a slight difference in the username, she gave me the letters and numbers but Iremember the username having @FS at the end but not when she read them out. The next screen was about adaptersand when I pressed again I ended up back at the GUI.

Just thought I,d clarify the GUI is open,on the right is System Status with Wireless,Status and Aura RGB in the middle are the WAN buttons and on the left is QIS under that is General settings and halfway down is Advanced Settings.

My ASUS GUI is not exactly the same as yours, but it should be similar where it matters.
1st of all it shouldn't matter about the settings that @Mustrum referred to at Admin > DSL Setting. I never needed to touch any of these:
The place to look is Advanced Settings > WAN where the BB Username & pwd goes:
Then open up ADVANCED & check these out:
Please use images like these when discussing so we both know where we are.
