Any experiences with the new router so far? Does this improve broadband stability and packet loss? Thanks!

Has anyone gotten the NFC to work when enabled on the guest network? I'm trying with a pixel 8a which has it switched on but nothing picking up when placed near the logo on the front.

@coops_ee : The SH Pro doesn't have NFC. It uses WiFi7. Sorry!

Thanks. They should remove the toggle from the latest router as it's pretty confusing. My next step was to open it up to see if there was any hardware behind the logo, you've saved me that job at least. 🙂

Hi all

Looking at the specifications of the smart hub pro through a third party there is an NFC chip present for connecting to the guest network only if you're using an android device however although the option in settings is there to enable this feature it looks like it needs a firmware upgrade in order to enable the hardware side. I have tried testing this with a test android device and it doesn't do anything, so from my understanding a future firmware update will be required.

Cheers

@Fire4  I do not believe this is a true WiFi 7 product as from what i can see there is no MLO. Perhap @JordanTA can confirm this?

Got one and it's a game changer for wifi around the house especially speed at the far corners - wifi (1gb) has improved from 40-80mbs in the worst parts of the house to over 600 mbps. The iphone 16 pro's are getting 1gb on WiFi7.

Only issues I'm having since installing is with Sky Q it keeps dropping the connection and have to re- enter the credentials 3/4 times a day so far. I think Sky Q will be not that backwards compatible with the smart 5ghz capabilities on the wifi7 pro router but something to consider for Sky customers- I'll end up in a tech support hell on call centres Sky will say get their Broadband its better etc and EE well all the other stuff is working fine so will suck it up for a bit and hope it improves.

@SaddoJohn - try enabling and configuring the 'Compatible WiFI' feature. That will give you a separate 2.4GHz (and optional 5GHz) WiFi network with reduced capability that the Sky Q's might behave a little better with?

Thanks @bobpullen done that now and testing on the first mini box fingers crossed and thanks for the reply

Who are the best people to speak to about getting one sent out. On the made for gamers package and still got one of the old routers which is frustrating as network is set up for 2.6gbps so don't really care about wifi 7 would just like a physical port that does more than 1gbps

I had real issues getting my Wi-Fi 7 router back in October. I did eventually get one though but it took a lot of calls and time to get them to send me one out in the end after the numerous phone calls and complaints. I was able to add mine as an add-on to my broaband account online as I'm not on the top plan and they sent me one out. So it feels like I've got a dedicated team now since it's launched back in September, which could only be good for the customer

In hindsight. I wish I hadn't bothered because I don't really rate their Wi-Fi 7 router compared to an Asus after market router in my honest opinion.
