Hey all my kit turned up today, I will set it all up Sunday and create a new topic for a detailed review of these units as well.

Just bare in mind that i live in an old home with red brick and the signal is crap everywhere i go in the home.

How do we enabled NFC as there no option to do this in app or web

@iammbuk - enable the Guest Wi-Fi feature and then see if holding a compatible NFC device next to the logo on the base of the hub does anything. Note, that you'll probably need to be using an Android device as I don't think iOS offers a native method of connecting to a Wi-Fi network using NFC.

I waited out of contract with BT Broadband for 2 years for this router after rumours about it surfaced.  Finally, the EE broadband checker for my address said it was available, along with 1.6Gbit speed.  That is until I logged into my EE account (I have a EE SIM only) to finalise deal, and discovered I couldn't have it as a BT customer and had to phone 150.  It wasn't available to me then either, but if I switched my broadband to EE now, once I was on the EE system it would become available.  Nope that didn't happen.  Another call to customer services told me that WiFi 7 is only available to new customers (and "BT Family" means I wasn't a new customer), but that it would become available to existing customers sometime in January.  I raised all this in another forum post, and some people there are being told they need to wait to the end of their contract to get it.  That means another 2-year wait for me.

So, for the people who are able to get the WiFi 7 router, what were your circumstances before and how did you sign up for it?  Is it a lottery of who you get when you ring 150?

@drofspin

I was on BT FTTP contract with about 18 months left on it and was able to migrate over but it was a real battle.

The migration profile broke, they set up 2-3 accounts which all failed. In the end I made a formal complaint and the EE product team came up with a work around for my case.

BT customer service were terrible, they didn't offer the 1.6Gbps connection, said that 900 was the same and I would be automatically upgraded when it was available (clearly a lie).

I saw an email go out a while ago asking if people would take part in a trial to migrate users from BT to EE so I wonder if they're trying to improve the journey before more people have to go through the mess some if us early adopters had to tolerate.

If you have TV on BT you can't migrate at all. Busiest Home is on a different system which doesn't support any other service (currently).

@garetc Thanks for your response.  I don't have BT TV.  I did have Digital Voice but dumped it when switching to EE broadband.  I do have a BT email address so maybe that's a factor.  I was pretty much lied to by the 150 operator who switched me when he said he would make it his personnel mission to ensure that I got the WiFi 7 router and would ring me back in 4 days after the switch to sort it out.  Needless to say I never heard from him again.

My smart hub pro and smart WiFi pro arrived today, I'm already on EE full fibre and my date to move over with one touch switch has jumped from the 11th to the 23rd 😭 can I plug in the new stuff now or do I have to wait until 23rd?

@Caz79 : If you're already on EE Full Fibre, why are using One Touch Switch? That's only for migrating between diff ISPs.

@XRaySpeX  I have no idea, our contract has come to an end and the guy in the EE shop sorted it all out a couple of days ago. The order tracking has a note to say the customer is using one touch switch.  I assumed it was because we already have the ONT in place. I don't know anything about it other than it's WiFi lol

@XRaySpeX  my husband says he had an email saying we are going from EE legacy to EE BT and had another saying sorry your leaving so I'm guessing that's why.

@Daisyt90might be a bug, EE has plenty, mine did update to show the new hub, the day before I received it - I would imagine it will update showing the right one eventually

We’ll set it up Tuesday. But my account is still showing the old router. Tried the normal delete app and still not working. I know the router will need updating but won’t be able to do that until can access it on the app.

@Daisyt90  EE support may be able to do something on their end, I'm not sure if it makes any difference tbh as long as it is setup and working it's just an image on the app

I have to spoke to them couldn’t really give me an answer. It does need updating because the WiFi enhancer won’t work and also it’s listing all my old devices. Is any one able to check firmware update for me for the new router

@Daisyt90  I think the only thing you can do would be to keep hounding them until they sort it for you, or raise it as an escalation complaint via https://ee.co.uk/help/contact-ee/complaint/complaint-form its normally slower but would escalate your case

I’ve just regraded my existing EE Fill Fibre 150 Broadband in order to add EETV onto the package. A new router wasn’t offered: I’m still using my BT Home Hub that has carried over from my old contract, so it must be 4 years old now.
Given I’ve recontracted with EE for another 24 months today, does anyone know whether I’m eligible to request this new router/ who I should contact?

I tried to get a wi -fi 7 router as part of a renewal deal as well as getting a marketing email offering me one.

But when I got through to an EE guide, he said they were having supply issues, and the fact nothing in my house is wi - fi 7 enabled.
So I’ll give up trying & wish I’d stayed with BT, they didn’t give me any of this grief.
