As EE will not accept a PAC issued by itself, if you carry out your original strategy, you will end up with two contracts and a new number on the new SIM.

There will be no usual way to get the number from the contract which is due to expire to the new contract.

There are ways round that which I'm coming to if you allow me & stop getting ahead of yourself before we've got the full facts of what the OP intends to do. He obviously not aware of the ramifications of what he is looking at.

@jonny7750 : Yes, by using your PAC you are cancelling your existing EE contract some months early, regardless as to whether you are taking out a new EE contract be it thro' EE or a 3rd party. Using a 3rd party is immaterial.

You wouldn't be doing an upgrade as you are not within the timeframe for an upgrade. This would be a new entirely separate contract.

Hi @XRaySpeX ,

Will EE accept a PAC issued by EE?

My other service provider has advised me on a number of occasions they will not take a PAC issued by themselves.

You sure? Are you within 45 days of your min term? You said "a few months".

No, @mikeliuk , PACs are for moving between networks, not within the same 1.

Hi @jonny7750 ,

As EE will not accept a PAC issued by itself, if you carry out your original strategy, you will end up with two contracts and a new number on the new SIM.

There will be no usual way to get the number from the contract which is due to expire to the new contract.

Edit: the most typical work-around is to port out to another provider and port back in again to the desired provider.

Your best option is to phone and negotiation a good price to upgrade as the provider will want to keep your business. If you wish to use your PAC to cancel the old contract, it will need to be given to a different provider. Good luck!

Those early upgrades before the 45 day upgrade window can only be done with EE, not a 3rd party. So, no, you're not!
