Why was I told I had insufficient sums to make a call when I had 179 minutes left

If you believe you're still within your minutes allowance then your best bet is probably to call CS on 150 so they can look at your account.

@DOOA   Insufficient  funds means you had no credit to pay for the call as it was a chargeable number you was calling it has nothing todo with the call allowance you still have. 

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
