extra sim for use in a tablet

Hello, I'm a customer with broadband and a pay monthly mobile account with 10.5GB data.

I'd like to have an extra sim to use in a tablet , but its more based on being able to gift maybe 50% of my mobile account. Is it possible to have a PayG linked to my pay monthly account that I can gift to?  or must I have another pay monthly sim which I reality I don't want, as I can easily get by on the 10.5 data across 2 units.

Thanks

No!

  1. You can't have a PAYG no. linked to a contract a/c. They don't mix.
  2. You can't gift data to a PAYG no.

Both nos. need to be under the same MyEE family a/c, not PAYG, to be able to gift data. See Gift Your Data and Set Controls .

Hi @ebodjarvo ,

Based on the requirements you have described, your best play will be to setup a WiFi hotspot so that the data allowance can be shared with the tablet via WiFi.

Obviously, the two devices will need to be nearby and that's how you make the saving versus taking an additional pay monthly line. Good luck!

Thanks, its frustrating I have 10.5 GB and generally only use ~3 or 4GB per month, so would have been nice to just share it across another device. So instead I will have to tether due to short sightedness of EE about sharing to a PayG or at least a super low base cost monthly sim.

@ebodjarvo .. I've had a tablet for a couple of years and as we use it exclusively indoors it simply works off the broadband wifi, no need for a sim or gifting etc. The only time it would need it's own sim/data is if you took the device outdoors and away from a wifi source.
