Will my iPhone pre order arrive on release day?

I just pre ordered the iPhone 12 pro. After placing my order I saw I’ll have to be home with ID ready to prove it’s me who’s collecting it. That’s why I’m asking the question. Will it arrive on the release day? The 23rd? Because I may have to book a day off work. Thanks

Hi @Bort 

Nobody can say 100% that it will be the case that you will have your device on release day. If promised and it says on order tracking, then it should be with you on the release day. 

DPD will text you when your delivery is due.

@Bort , this depends when EE get supplies from Apple, how many and also when you did your order, as it is always a first come first serve.

You will get an email/text the evening before delivery from DPD and then on the day another one with a one hour window for delivery, or when you get the email/text from DPD you could always choose the time/date for delivery, I did this for my watch.

Okay thanks. I ordered 9 minutes after the opening window for pre orders so hopefully it does come Friday

Where abouts did it state you have to have ID to accept the delivery?

I know this is sometimes the case for phone deliveries however when I ordered the 12 pro it didn't state this anywhere.

It's currently being delivered to my mothers address as ill be at work, so might need to change my plans a bit if this is the case

I can’t seem to find it anywhere now, but I did see it otherwise I wouldn’t of mentioned it, up to you what you want to do. Im heading home before they arrive just to be safe

Phones are delivered to the billing address even if you put a different address it will still be delivered to the billing address.  And you need photo ID to take delivery of the device,  if you have no photo ID anyone at that address with photo ID can take delivery of the item.

Thanks Chris. Is this a recent thing? Ive had an iPhone X and 11 delivered to my mothers before, which is a different address to my billing.

Will be a bit miffed if thats the case as at no point during ordering did it state this, and allowed the different address when it asked for a delivery address.

Hoping I get an hour delivery window  and can just nip home if needed if so 🙄
