We want to video whats app the daughter of our friends who are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary this Saturday but she lives in Toronto. How much would it costs us to do so?

Hi @TimP2 and welcome to the community

WhatsApp uses your phone's internet connection, so you'll be charged either from your data allowance or - if you're using WiFi - most likely free.

Hi @TimP2 and welcome to the community

Many thanks. Unfortunately the elderly people on whose behalf we will be
phoning have no Internet so WiFi is out. So will have to use data
allowance. Does the fact that we will be contacting Canada affect the use
of our allowance, compared to local use? Will it use a large amount of it,
or is it like WiFi it doesn't matter where you are contacting?

The internet makes no differential whether your data is being sent to Southampton or Sydney - once your phone has sent the data, that's all you need to worry about.

Many thanks for your help.
