When i started with EE i wanted to use my 3g J1 Galaxy as a pay as you go phone, i asked can a 4g sim work with 3g phone they said, should be no problem, well they were wrong, i bought the Data on line & in packs over a period of two & a half months so far no go, frustrating, people can call me, i can not call them, my screen says emergency call only, every time i bought data it said text now 150 & you would be up and running i get a red box and error message, why, i am doing what it asks, why am i barred?

Hi @168564727 and welcome to the community
There are some issues with 5G plans whereby you need to be on specific plans to access the 5G network, but none of these apply to 4G & 3G - you have an EE SIM, there's no such thing as a 4G, 3G or 2G SIM.
Is your PAYG phone showing signal? Do you have sufficient credit on your account to make the call or send the message?
If you text BALANCE to 150 (this is free) what does it say?
