Unlocking Phone

pks1414

I have a new Iphone 12 and I want to get that set up from my old XR. Old and new are EE and I want to keep my old number. I jhave been told how to transfer info from my old phone to my new by turning on the new phone next to the Old, once thats completed I put my old Sim in the new phone. At what stage do I get my old phone unlocked. I have checked and its still locked

Hi and welcome to the community, @pks1414

The iPhone should have been unlocked automatically after you've had it for 18 months.

Have you tried a different network's SIM card?

Where did you yourself get this device itself originally? Did you buy it yourself new direct from EE or from a 3rd-party reseller or is it 2nd-hand? The unlocking process & costs are different. Was it originally on contract or PAYG?
