Hi, I've read and called etc etc etc..... to unlock my old Orange locked Motorola V220.
I... eventually managed to request unlocking via web site but the answer  came back is not possible as it is too old to unlock.

I just... want to double check with you guys if it is true?

It is my phone, not a secondhand.
I needed to start new with new sim because l missed the chance to recover my Pay as you go account because of ill advice of customer service. ... 😞

I see lots of websites selling unlock codes but now sure which one is safe either.
Hope... somebody know what to do.

Where did you yourself get this device itself originally? Did you buy it yourself new direct from EE or from a 3rd-party reseller? The unlocking process & costs are different. Was it originally on contract or PAYG?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

Hi @Achan1

The phone is 18 years old and uses bespoke Motorola firmware. EE would need to have access to the key generator which I doubt they have after all these years. Motorola the firm (which manufactured that device) doesn’t exist any more and is now a different company.

I would also add this phone may not work for much longer as it uses the 2G GSM network only.

These old devices can normally be unlocked manually by you. If you search around the forums I’m sure there will be a way.

Thanks,

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
