Trying to cancel Smart Watch plan

Hi all,

I'm trying to cancel my smart watch plan but having no success. I've tried calling 150 twice now and both times I've waited so long I get the long beeps which warns that the line was disconnected from the other end.

I can just cancel the plan on my side but will this incur a penalty?

I appreciate things are busier now with Covid and less people manning the phones but there's only so long I can stand listening to pop music and being told to wait only to be forcibly disconnected.

There's no way you can cancel the plan on your side. There are 2 parties to the contract. If you mean cancelling the DD at your bank, the penalties will be a broken credit rating & debt collectors at your door.

Hi XRaySpeX,

On the My Watch app there is an option titled 'Remove EE Plan'. Unless that's a falsehood, it seems pretty blatant as to its purpose.

So then, if I incur penalties because I cannot get through to a customer rep, my only other choice is to write the ombudsman. Good to know.

Oh, OK, I didn't know that. Altho' I'd expect it means "Remove pairing with EE mobile".

No, your choice would be to write to EE to give your notice. You can't write to the Ombudsman anyway w/out 1st failing to get satisfaction from a formal complaint to EE.
