Will my sim work if I take it out of my phone and put it in a different phone

Welcome to the EE Community,

 

you can put your sim card into any device providing it fits if it doesn't you are able to use the adapter supplied with the sim if you still have it.

Thanks does it make any difference that I have a 24 month contract with EE for a mobile phone

No. You may put your SIM in any device and you may use any SIM in your device. Basically you can do whatever you like with your SIMs and devices as long as you pay your bills.
